Viking Build

This is an ambitious project that I have wanted to do for a long time. Namely make a mold of a boat and make fiberglass copies. Not wanting to be accused of stealing someone's design, I drew up a set of plans based loosely on the Apache racing hull. I then set about building the wooden hull that will be the plug for the mold. I fiberglassed the wooden hull, polished it and waxed it in preperation of making the mold.

The slide show is working and I have finished the mold. I have 6 coats of mold release wax in the mold. I made the mold from Black tooling resin, supposed to be hard and strong, I had a void on the transom that took some time to repair and one other about midships. I filled them with resin and sanded them smooth with 800 grit as the final sand paper.
